Welcome

Hi, my name is Dr. Malte Ostendorff.

I am a senior researcher in the field of information science and natural language processing. I have a strong interest in open data and civic tech, and am currently employed at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) where I work on large language models (LLMs), scientific and legal document processing. Previously, I was a Ph.D. student in the Scientific Information Analytics group at the University of Göttingen, supervised by Prof. Bela Gipp.

Furthermore, I am the co-founder of Open Justice e.V., an association that aims to improve access to justice for the general public by advocating for more transparency in the legal system through projects such as Open Legal Data, which publishes legal documents, such as court decisions, as open data.
